June 5th will go down in infamy as rivalry week at the Grown Up Sports Tuesday Night Adult Coed Dodgeball League in the Houston Heights.
7PM: BALLS DEEP v. Average Joe’s
Crazy intense games this week. Ump disputes and controversy. We won’t let it overshadow stellar play from Average Joe’s Ryan, who won a stand off 1-on-5. Also worth mentioning, BALLS DEEP’s Sean, who staved off imminent defeat in a similar 1-on-4 scenario. This is set to be a good preview of the playoffs as both teams have some heavy hitters and slick killers on their squads. As the Joe’s built up steam, they came up short when their drill sergeant was called out for getting hit with “just the tip” of BALLS’ balls. BALLS DEEP pulls it out this week.
BALLS DEEP wins, 4-1, 4-2

8PM: DVX v. Globo Gym
In a mildly less intense game for the officiating crew, but progressively more intense game for rivalry week, the 8PM bout saw DVX vs Globo Gym. Globo Gym’s Jeremy “Phil Dunphy” Siebenmann, saved his finest moves and jeers for this game; well, not his finest moves, as those are saved for photo/video days and he knows all the dances to High School Musical. DVX was prepared for this and, again, attacked in waves. Big standoffs from Jay and co-captain, Ben Wick would net GG the victory.
Globo Gym wins, 4-2

At this point DVX rallied in a corner where Marie was overheard giving the short and to the point speech. No intensity, no victory. DVX raged back (perhaps raged too hard as one player threw his arm out) in a battle that would come down to the last 5 seconds of play in which a double attack from Callas and David would score the actual last second kill as the ref counted down 3…2…1.
DVX wins, 3-2
That’s it.
